February is a special month for me. You may be wondering why? Is it because the world is celebrating Valentine’s?? Hmm, in a way but I have a reason more than that. It’s because some special people are celebrating their birthdays in this month of love. Yea, they are people close to my heart. My brother Marc, my long time friend Meng (13 years of friendship and still counting), my ever dearest loving lola, and the best godmother of all, my Ninang Belen. They have one thing in common, bukod sa pare-parehas silang may 24 hours a day, pare-parehas din silang ipinanganak ng February.
You may ask me, so Monette, you are dedicating this blog post for them?? Yes, you are right that’s why I am warning you, this is a long entry.
BRO-I love him and I’m very proud of him. Sabi ng iba, pag bunso daw, sunod sa luho, matigas ang ulo, I can attest to that. Marc is not! He’s a good guy. Yes in a way, nabigyan din kami ng sakit ng ulo, lalo na ngayon, Naku Marc!!! Joke. Seriously, he’s a gentleman and that’s what I like about him. He’s very sweet as well. I remember one time, it was the day before Valentine’s day, he bought plastic roses (para matagalan daw) to give to those people who are special to him. My lola asked him, kanino mo ibibigay yung malaki? He answered, sa pinakaspecial. Then the next day, my lola told me, Monette, binigyan ako ni Marc ng rose oh. Naks naman!! Ang lola ko kinikilig. Hehe, ako wala. Joke.
He’s a good dancer too. He loves hip-hop more than ballet. That’s why I feel butterflies in my stomach every time I watch him doing exhibitions like Zero Gravity. I tell you, if you’re an elder sister, you’ll be nervous in a way, feeling like something might happen to your little bro. I know that’s psychological but that’s just the way it is. Anyway, I am proud every time I see him dancing and people telling him, Marc, ang galing mong sumayaw ah. He just points his index finger up there and says Glory to God. That makes me prouder!! 
He wants to be a model like his former classmate Carlo who recently won as the newest Bench model. Every time he asks me about this, my answer is always the same. All caps and bold letters with exclamation point, AYOKO! Finish your school first Marc, kami naman ni ate Joy mo ang fans mo e, enough na yun! 
Eww!
He’s also an explorer, an adventurer and a sporty person. Very opposite ko. He can play outdoor sports. He’s a former volleyball varsity player. What’s the reason of resigning again??
Sigh. Marc, if you are reading this and I know you are. I want you to know that I am blessed to have you as my brother. I am thankful to God for giving me you. I am so proud of you and will fight anything for you. Keep your feet on the ground always and trust God in everything you do. I love you so much Marc and Happy 17th Birthday!!
MENG-We’ve been together for more than a decade. To be exact, 13 years!! Oh come on, daig pa ata namin mga mag boyfriends and girlfriends. Haha
Well Meng is one of my treasures. Yes you heard me, treasures, in plural form coz she’s one of the many treasures I have in life. (God has been gracious and merciful to give me genuine friendships.) This lass is very talented. She sings excellently, acts well and dan ces gracefully. She’s very talented. She like reading, surfing, chatting, texting, trivia, what else?? AHA!! Most especially, being the boss. Men and women calling her Ma’am Ann. Naks!!
This damsel is still single and very much available. I dare anyone who will marry this girl. You are very fortunate!! Pero dadaan ka muna sa aking mga kamay!! Hehe

LOLA-the best lola in the world. Lahat ng apo sinasabi ‘to. Haha, but for us, she’s the best!! She’s a great cook, that’s why we love eating, though not obvious, and she’s the one to blame. She’s very skillful when it comes to cooking. Even though my sister Joy is taking HRM, she still can’t beat my lola. Yea, aminado siya! My lola loves to experiment, she’ll just watch a demo show in TV about a certain food and she’ll imitate it. Syempre, kami taga tikim lang. Hehe. Maybe that’s the reason why we love good food, yea, I think so.
She’s very loving as well. Maraming nagsasabi pag laki sa lola mga apo. Sunod sa layaw. Hmmm, not all! We grew up well, though we didn’t grew up with mom and dad beside us, we’re good. I don’t think this is subjective. And it’s not coming from me but I’m just reiterating what people tell me, even pastors and some of my mother’s friends and even our relatives. With that, I give God the glory and give my lola, a thank you! Happy Birthday lola and I love you!

Truly, people are blessed because of people. Though we sometimes have problems because of some folks, but let’s just change the channel of our minds to those people who have so good to us. Like what Jesus said Do unto others what you want others do unto you, I am just giving back what people have contributed to this happy life of mine. This simple gesture of blogging is a sign of being thankful to every person I met, every person I have and every person I love. Again, Happy Birthday to you Marc, Meng, Lola and tita Belen and other celebrants of February.

I am proud to be born in the month of November. Mabuhay ang mga ipinanganak ng Nobyembre!!! While reading the meaning of my birthmonth, I just nod, sometimes, say A-HA or ask myself, Is that really me?? That proves my inquisitiveNESS and deep thinker. Haha
